Another day, another Big Skunk O. This is getting old...

Got to fish today with rseas. We launched out of Marblemount and motored down below the mouth of the Cascade to some very fishy holes. Anchored up at a killer spot, saw a few rising and thought the fish gods would smile on us this day. It was not to be. Threw everything at em - eggs, Dick Nites, spinners, twitched jigs. Rseas had one on briefly early in the day that spit the hook. Ventured down from this prime spot and tried a couple other locations, again, spots that looked primed and likely to hold fsih, but nada.

The water was in great shape, very clear, running a bit fast at 6,300 cfs. Sunny skies, what more could anglers ask for? Oh ya, how about a few fish, LOL?

Couldn't explore as far down river as I would have liked due to approaching a tail out that looked just a tad too skinny to run my jet boat through. It was either "no guts no glory" or "discretion is the better part of valor". I chose the later. Next time I'll have to bring my pontoon and do it as a drift. The scenery is very nice up there!

Hey Mike, coming from one who likes to turn it up to 11? "discretion is the better part of valor" I guess age has taken its toll on all of us! LOL

Just as a heads up, at 6300 you can drift a sled through all the tailouts and flats from Marblemount to Concrete and most likely to the mouth. The clear water throws you off but its always much deeper than it looks. That being said, if it didn't look right to you, it didn't look right.
