I had the privilege of fishing with Danny from River Chrome Guide Service yesterday with my dad and father in law. I booked this trip early on in the season and had been looking forward to it ever since. I do a lot of fishing on my own all year around. I'd consider myself an avid angler, and really of all kinds. I love anything from the lakes to the ocean and in between. However, being like most, I work way more than I want to at a job that doesn't allow me to catch fish :) Therefore, time is invaluable when I'm actually out fishing.
I want to thank Danny for putting us on fish all day. Danny is a top notch angler, and beyond that a top notch and truly professional guide. Even in tough low water conditions he had the right weapons and strategy to get these amazing fish to bite. Me, being the avid angler I am, learned A LOT. I say this because though many times I actually feel like I know what I'm doing on the water, someone doing it every day simply knows more. I can assure you, it pays to fish with these people and learn new things. Plus, it's just plain fun.
In the end I think we landed over 10 fish - a mix of coho, coho jacks, a beautiful trout, and a couple of kings that were released. Give it some rain and that likely would have been 30+ fish day. I HIGHLY recommend whether you are new to angling or have been doing it your entire life to consider hiring a guide in the waters you might know so well, or ones that you don't. At the end of the day you become a better fisherman, simple as that. Thanks again Danny!
Now I just need to buy that drift boat... There is nothing more beautiful than floating our state rivers.
