Floated the Skykomish River yesterday with Nate Treat and my brother Gerry. Had a blast from the get go! First off any day on this beautiful river is a good day whether there are fish involved or not. Second off there were a lot of fish involved. We had constant action while the cloud cover held in the morning. My brother landed a super chrome Jack (approx. 6-7 lbs) mid-morning. It was so bright that I thought it was a Steelhead until we got it in the net. He had several other hookups that came unbuttoned. I caught a beautiful native Steelhead that was safely released (no picture because I was more concerned with releasing it unharmed then taking a picture). Had a couple more fish come unbuttoned and enough drive-byes to make your heart palpitate. The river is definitely heating up. Thanks Nate for a great time and for being so willing to share your techniques and knowledge. Looking forward to getting back out soon in search of more Steel and Kings!
