So, Hit the sky this morning, target location retier pond. got to the river around 7 and find the parking lot is half empty(cool its not so crowded, that's why i like fishing on weekdays).so found a good spot just down that creek, spent like 2 hours with nothing, decided to venture down river, found a promising spot so i set up camp.throw all my home made jigs in various colors with nothing. around maybe 10am i was about to call it quit then on my last cast my bobber went for a dive and start running, then a fight went on, it fight hard and trying to take me to the heavy current but i was able to yank its head back to where i want him to be, in maybe 20 minute of fight i was able to land a beautiful summer steely(wild one, maybe 6-8 lbs) so i sent it back swimming right away. now my body still shivering from the good fight and excitement i hurried up and cast again and hook up in to my second catch of the day( the tree branch behind me). so spent some wasteful time untangling my line when i heard a big splash right next to me it sounded like a big fish jump, in my head i was thinking it might be a king, so as soon as i got my line out from the tree i check my leader and jig its still looking good so cast on hoping to hook my first king, got to my over 15 cast when i hook into my second steely for the day(its looking somewhere 10lbs wild one) sent it back swimming and give me a face wash and the fish swam off. call it done at 2pm. overall it was a great outing(sorry no pictures im back to the old school flip phone with terrible camera).
caught: 2 wild steelhead
1 tree branch
