Fishing this past week on the Clearwater has been fantastic. We have been concentrating our efforts in the Orofino area, but fish are spread throughout the system. We have spent most of our time back trolling divers and eggs in known Chinook Travel lanes, but I expect the plug bite to turn on any day as the water temps are now in the lower 50's. The first week of June is a historically great time to be on Idaho's Clearwater as we are usually past the threat of high water and the fish have now spread out throughout the entire system. Bank anglers can also have fantastic days Plunking spin n glows with eggs or shrimp, or bobber fishing eggs or buck tail jigs tipped with shrimp.
With fishing as good as it is now i don't expect the season to last long on the main river. With that said i have a few opening the rest of this week. I also have two seats open on Saturday the 7th and a full boat available on Sunday.
I am currently working for Reel Time Fishing to run my Idaho Spring Chinook trips. Rates for Clearwater Spring Chinook are $250/ person and I can do groups up to 5. A hot BBQ lunch is provided with all full day trips. We are also offering half day 6hr trips for 200/person. Give me a call or text at 208-861-0654 and I will let you know how to get your trip booked.
Fish the Columbia, Snake, and Clearwater Rivers for salmon, steelhead, and sturgeon. For drift boat trips on Idaho's Clearwater and Washington's Grande Ronde rivers, we fish out of a 20x72 Willie Drift Boat.
