Fished the Cowlitz today from the bank by the Blue Creek launch. Started fishing at about 6:30am or so and left around 9:30am. Not a lot happening for us or the other guys on the bank at the spot. I did see one caught out in the middle of the river from some guys who appeared to be side drifting from a boat. Anyway, I spent most of the morning casting various corky and yarn combinations in pink, orange and black. I even tried a metallic blue corky with black yarn at one point, just because. No strikes on anything. The friends I went with were also using similar gear, as well as yarn balls. Eventually I went to a white and light pink jig, still with no luck. That was about the point at which we decided to pack it up, get something to eat and head to the Skook.
