The rather large school of coho that had been milling around low in the system for the last couple weeks, seems to have finally moved up stream. After poking around spot-to-spot in Tukwilla, Kent and Auburn, I found them! The water is very low and clear on the river right now, and the fish were a bit spooked. Could it be that Nathan had been here and up to his usual handlining shenanigans again? That being said, there are still some fresh VERY bright fish in the bunch - some willing biters too. Hooked five fish, landed two. Began with jigs and lures with no success. I had a strange feeling that these fish wanted drifted eggs.. which they got! Biggest fish was a 6.5lb hen.

*Note to Self: After fighting a fish, make sure the line (from the mainline end of the barrel swivel, all the way to the hook) is not compromised in any way. A good tug-test should suffice. Better yet, change out the leader and hook. The three fish I lost were all solid hookups, and were lost due to failed knots or cut/snapped/sliced leader.

I'll try to attach a photo or two, although past attempts on my end have proved fruitless.

Hey there McNaulty, I've been scouting up and down the Duwy for the last week to find fresh without success. If you don't mind, where did you find them? The level is low with lots of boot fish so I was figuring until we get some really good rains the Green is pretty much done. Nice job!

I see a lot of town names , but no river names or locations. Id like to get some for the smoker but haven t seen any fisherman at any river locations I have looked at puyallup, white and green rivers! More info would be nice! I fish alone most of the time not by choice but sometimes that s the way it goes when your new to the area.

Trouttrakr - Thank you! Check your inbox. Should get some rain in the next few days, just in time for the nets to go back in on Sunday.

Diamonddave - I was on the Green/Duwamish River, in the general area of where the two meet.
