Got off work at 4:30pm and decided, what the hay, lets check the river levels. Graphs showed the Stilly was up to 7ft just 2 days ago and now down to 3ft, so i decided to go check it out. Got there just after 5:30 with the family. Not too many people there, just a few guys upstream and a few down. I found some nice slower water and started drifting my dick nite. 3rd cast in I get a take down while slow retrieving my spoon close to the bank. Thought it was a foul hooked humpy at first the way it was rolling on the surface. A short while later I slide the first silver of the night on the bank. Ended up being a 7lb hen. Sweet! Get it on the stringer, mark my catch card and start casting again. No bites for about 15 mins then I get another take down on the retrieve again. Again, I thought it was a humpy so I let my visiting family members son (5 yrs old) reel it in with a little help. He gets it to the bank and its another silver. This never happens to me, not on the Stilly! Get that one on the stringer, mark my card and I'm limited. My old lady starts casting in the same spot I was in and not only catches the 1st coho of her life, but catches two for her limit also. We ended up with four hens in about an hour, 1@ 7lbs and rest at 5lbs. First time we have been off the water with coho limits ever. All fish were caught on a very slow retrieve very close to the bank. Good luck out there.
