10/7/2013 3:00:00 PMIt's not legal to fish from the top of the bridge. Under the bridge, or by its side (provided that your feet are on ground, not concrete) it's ok. Lucky you no police passed by (it does not need to be a ranger to get you on this one). Actually, some 4 years ago I saw a guy being arrested for snagging (ok, it was not fishing) from the top of the bridge.

10/8/2013 9:30:00 AMThere are some exceptions, such as West Seattle bridge... but yes, most bridges are illegal to fish from the top of them. I believe that it mostly has to do if cars go through... pedestrian bridges (like the one on West Seattle) should be ok, but car bridges (even if there's a pedestrian walk) is not ok because you could hit a car when throwing the bait if you are not careful.
