Got to Haller Park yesterday around 7 a.m. River was running a little high and fast, but had around 2 feet of vis. Only 1 other guy fishing when I got there so I found a good, slower drift and started working down from there. I started with a #1 50/50 dick nite but wasn't getting any action. Switched out to a #1 frog dick nite and started c&r pinks pretty consistently. Once the sun came onto the water, I switched back to the 50/50 and midway through a drift, something slams my spoon and starts running. I knew right away it was a coho as this fish was all over the place. The fish ran up, then down, then I get it close, and it splashes me at the bank and runs back out. After a 4 or 5 min, nerve-racking battle (I only had 8lb leader), I was able to slide the silver onto the bank. Ends up being a 6lb bright buck. I had to be home by 9:30, so I bled the fish and ended up c&r a few more pinks while waiting. All in all, it was a good day out on the river.
