It's getting a little late in the pink season, but most of the fish still aren't moldy and there are still plenty of biters! Today I caught two decent pinks on spinners up by Index. If anyone ever says it's not possible to catch humpies on spinners they're completely wrong. I'm not flossing these fish. Put on some polarized sunglasses and just watch the pinks follow your spinner and nip at it. Bites are usually subtle. Just make sure your spinner is within a couple feet of bottom and reel as slow as possible. Blades in plain silver or silver with a little color work great. Of course the brightest fish bite the best, but we've even been catching "green" pinks on the verge of turning moldy; completely fair hooked. It's a lot of fun, trust me. The coho are starting to show in good numbers. It should be a good year for them too!

Most of the time the fish that actually commit to the lure are the fish that you don't see, since they are usually deeper and farther out in the river.
