Launched at about 2:00 PM at Rotary, headed up river to the float plane. We caught limits within an hour, fish were everywhere, it was really fun. They were nice and bright fish. I think I am going to wear out my fillet knife! Bubble gum jigs, half pink half white, light pink all seemed to work the best. One pole seems to be outfishing the rest using the same jigs as the others. I think it might be because it is using 8 pound instead of 10 pound test. Maybe getting a little deeper in the water or having a better jigging action.

Great!
The fish also don't see the 8 pound test as much (vs. the 25% heavier 10 pound test line), some argue. The line might have been thinner even beyond it's apparent test, as for example Maxima is "under tested", and certain Ande lines are not (as an example.) See the line sizes (in millimeters, I think) on some labels, to see what I mean. Maybe the 8 pound was softer and casted farther, or just casted farther because it's the lighter line. I've found sometimes that I don't catch river pinks when I cast close to the boat, especially if I'm shore fishing.

The reel I use on the pole with 8 lb test has a very small spool so it does not cast very far. So it must be the line visibility or the action of the jig. The line is also that camo type that varies in color.
