Wow! Holy craleedo are there a lot of fish. Fish until your arms are sore, and then some more. Over the last few weeks we've been bringing them home and CATCHING. This isn't fishing anymore, it's catching.

The old standards are working well, twitched jigs, pink spoons, Dick Nites and their much cheaper Danielson thin blade look-a likes. Fishing traditional Coho colors, however, may give you a surprise or two.

A very productive and cost effective technique is sand-shrimp or prawn tipped steelhead jigs under a float. Give it a twitch or two every once in a while and it's fish on!

The fish are stacked from Everett to Index, with the brighter fish slowly becoming over run by the traditional "humpy" in the upper stretches. However, fresh fish move up in monstrous schools every day now, so you'll still have the chance to fill the fridge for a few weeks yet.

After the pinks start getting on the dark side, we will switch to Peninsula coho and chinook, as well as local coho and fall chinook. So if you're interested in fighting pinks until your arms are sore, or booking a more exotic trip for Queets and Humptulips salmon, give me a call and we'll be sure to fill your freezer.
