Got to the river at about 6:45 am to 7:00 am and it was already packed. Didn't get a bite on for at least a good 45 minutes but after that it was non-stop action for the next 3 hours. I say 3 hours even though i would have limited out in the 15 minutes after my first catch but because I was trying to go for a king or silver, I extended my stay by releasing all pinks.

CONS of the day: Would have stayed longer but just too many fishermen who caused more of a headache than a pleasure to be fishing. Some who couldn't throw and would cross 10 lines on every cast and then there's those who just threw too far upstream after asked not to do so.

pink fishing brings out the newbies. on non-pink years, lots less crouds. and most of these are seasoned like us. do to lack of funding for fish food, the puyallup river is only running on barly meeting escapement. no money=no baby fish food= 3,500 fish, instead of the historic 20-60,000. silver run used to seem near humpy hot type success. no more. if you get a few coho, be thankfull.
