"Testing out the new Okuma's"

Operation- Snap-a-rod

Went out with blurock and a few friends today. Fished low, fished high.

The day started off slow but had spurts of intense Humpie slaying action with a few doubles and some fish that got some major air time. Troublemakers cleaned house again today and I think the owner hooks make a huge difference. Every fish that hits gets stuck, and stays that way. There is no hits, there is hookups and that fish is done for. We explored up past doug bar where Bree boked the first keeper of the day. Moved down river where we hit a few more fish. Then moved back up river where we finished off the day with some fast paced fish bonkin action. I also hooked my personal best hump, 10.98 pounds! What a toad! Lots of blood was spilled, laughter and excitement filled the day. A 5 star in my book.

I am now an Okuma fan. I tried to break an SST today, I couldn't do it. Those should pass the test over the next month or so.

I just broke an SST today. I was dropping my battery over the side of the boat and it landed on the tip of the rod and slammed against diamond plate. That's what it takes! Any pink over 10 is respectable. Very nice fish!

what a haul! I got an SST I was using yesterday, super flexi.. it was pretty fun to play with.. i hadn't caught anything with it unitl yesterday and it was fun!

Nice report and a 10lb pink is awesome. On the Okuma SST, it's a great pole but I suffered a break two feet down from the tip after my lure got caught on the backside of the cast - on the rail of my boat. Aft first I thought I simply tossed off part of the pole but realized it was broken. Total bummer but going to get another one!!! :-)
