Went to the qualmie for the morning to fish the big eddy. Fished with the 8wt for a few min for steel and decided to get out the 5wt for some trout instead. After breaking off a thingamabobber, it floated around the current and came back where I tried to grab it. The rocks underneath slipped out and next thing I knew, I was in the water. Had to take a little swim to get back. Thank god I wasn't in the faster water when it happened. After that, caught 4 on a prince nymph dropped about 4 ft under an indicator. Only fished for about an hour and a half but once the water drops a little more in the next couple weeks, the fishing will pick up. No pictures because I was drying out my phone after soaking it a little bit

Sorry to hear about the unwanted swim... I just started fly fishing this last season myself and no nothing about Nymph fishing.. Need to pick up that one... Read another report someone was getting into some trout on the fly below the cable hole.

Hey cole, careful there! That is one reason I am thinking of going over to hip waders and ditching the stocking foot chest waders. I have nightmarish visions of slipping, filling up, and sinking! Ok, I am trying to figure all the places below the falls, they all have the "spot" name. Just asked another where the cabel hole is, now its time to find out about the bid eddy.....I hear about it alot and have no clue! Thanks!

Wader belt and PFD fly vest... only way to fish and mitigate drowning risk. I thought it was stupid when my wife bought me a PDF vest a few years back... have eaten crow multiple times since then as it has saved me every time I think 1 step further would do the trick...portable wading sticks are another life saver when "crossing" streams. Tight lines!
