With the Tokul winter hatchery season drawing to an end, I gave it one more go hoping to get lucky. Hit numerous spots on the Snoq. above Plum landing floating jigs and castings spoons for a couple hours this morning. Not one hit. Water was super low and crystal clear. Only saw a couple other guys on the main river who were also not getting any action. Pleasant morning and fun to try some new areas that I hadn't searched out before. Rain set it just as I was leaving.

There just isn't any fish any more. Unless you can get out to the coast, you are just enjoying the great outdoors. I sure wish there was fish around. I was all excited because that last steelhead yieled some really nice eggs for springers, but I just read low returns are expected this year and most rivers are catch and release. I have switched to bass fishing mode now. The pinks will be here soon though.

Unfortunately there isn't a rating for "Outdoor enjoyment", but if there was, I'd give this morning a 5. :) At this point in the season catching something is just a bonus.

If you have a boat you can still catch trouts on the 3 pound range at Beaver lake... just not from the park, you have to know where they congregate this time of the year...
