Didn't get my chance to get out on Sunday, so took a couple hours to hit the river this morning at Big Eddy. Unfortunately I couldn't get there any earlier than 8:30. There were guys in all the usual locations. Overall saw four fish landed by three people at various locations in the hole. I started up on the Tokul delta fishing the eddy and Snoqualmie mainstem. Floated jigs in various color combos without any results. Tried pitching a silver and blue spoon a few times, but nothing on that either. Water was a little high, but good visibility. Towards the end I attempted to wade out to the center island (submerged). Just barely made it across the channel without getting water down my chest waders (whew!). A couple guys were already out there and with the high water I wasn't happy with my drift/location, but made due with what I had available since I'd braved the swim already and figured I should at least put on a show.... until my float decided to break. Nothing for me there either. Tippy-Toed my way back to bank and loaded up my now sopping wet gear at 11. At least it was only my gear that was sopping wet.

Hey, at least you got out there and got the line wet! Work is too busy this month for me so probably won't hit the rivers until after the 1st~ good luck out there!

Be careful crossing to the island, heard of some close calls on the highwater days. Wear a belt.

kzoo, funny you say that. I actually stopped by the truck to put my belt on before checking it out. Good advice. The water wasn't really moving fast, just a little high. Even so, not something I'd recommend to just anyone to try. @barry, yes at least I get to scratch the itch. Hope you get a chance sooner than later.

be Careful wading like that. I used to have a friend that liked to wade on his tip toes. He was a good fisherman too. Just took one too many risks.
