Fished again on both 11/08 & 11/09. Certainly was nice to fish in the sun! Yesterday was a highlight b/c I FINALLY convinced my Pops to go give it a try. He only fishes Alpine Lakes and is used to being ecstatic over 10"-20" trout in those lakes when backpacking. Needless to say, he spent more time fighting fish than he spent trying to catch. He only foul-hooked ONE out of endless action and kept a nice shape 14LB hen for smoker. It was the most excited I have seen him fishing in yrs and he fishes about 25x a yr. Once rain comes again, maybe some fresher-condition ones will come in for loading up smoker or just fighting. Both Thursday & Friday, it was endless action w/ nearly ALL pounding down on corkies. There is a lot of room, so I suggest if you want a good fight and lots of them, hit up the Sky and Wallace. Everyone I run into 3-5 times a week is in great spirits. One guy hit a winter Steelie, another got a chromer Coho shockingly. See ya on the river if you can make it!

FYI might not want to keep those chum...can get expensive. Wallace is coho only, release all other salmon. Might be why you notice so much room to fish, people are fishing out on the sky where it is legal to keep chum.

I hit out on the spit where casting into confluence where Sky/Wallace are.... I assume that is still OK since it's a mix, isnt it? Maybe you can answer a question for me... I pick up a lot of gear when waters go down. I see a lot of dual-hook setups I clip/put into pocket for later. I was assuming those setups are illegal, right? I find a lot of them in the sands. even finding jigs w/ a trailer-hook..

To answer your question on the dual hook. It is my interpetation that it is NOT legal UNTIL dec.1...anti-snagging rule is effect until Nov.30 which states a single hook that is 3/4 inch gap or less. But always refer to the regs and never take anyone elses word for it, as they will most likely not pay the ticket if they are wrong. I believe it is page 42

Goodtimes, I appreciate your information in PM. To paraphrase, in the 80's/early 90's, in 1991 when the Wallace railroad tressle crosses into Sky Delta, it is deemed as the confluence. For people who have not known that section of area, directly under where high-water flows would be mouth of Wallace. Each big flood it changes, but true mouth, on map(not GoogleEarth) should still be as it was for last decades; tressle of Sky mixed delta.; ~ I prefer the fishing knee-deep at the current spit/seam, but what is the solution?

Goodtimesfishing, I just found a copy. I see why plenty of people below Reese Rd/train tressle. It is still shown as true-mouth on Sky Delta. "From mouth (farthest downstream railroad bridge.....)" . Thanks for motivation to get me double-check. Appreciated!

LuisDaBeast- wish I packed a camera but only have DSLR Nikon now...too big to mess w/ on river. would have loved to capture Pops though. He does not pack camera on river either. The Chromer Coho and Steel were via a bobber-jig on Thursday/ appeared to be all mouth. That guy inspired me to switch over to my bobber-rod....but only for a few minutes! You be up there next few days? Hoping for rain again or snow...
