Hit the Sky at the mouth of the Wallace for a few hours this morning. It was super crowded in the area which I was a bit surprised by for a Thursday morning. Doesn't anyone work these days? Saw some people bring in some dirty chums on my way down to the spot I wanted to fish. I mostly threw corkies and yarn today, but also used a jig under a float tipped with shrimp.

Hooked in to a few fish, all on black corkie with red yarn. Second bite of the day I landed a 15ish lb chum. Not exactly what I was looking for, but they sure give a hard tug. Missed a few fish through the morning, and then on my "last cast" before I switched over to the Wallace my line gets hammered. The fish sat down low at first but then flashed up on the surface. I SEE CHROME!!! I was fishing low in the hole below the big riffle near the mouth of the Wallace and this fish was determined to head downstream. I tightened down the drag and tried to get the fish turned, but there must have been a nick in my mainline because snap it went and my pretty fish swam off : ((

So the moral of the story is I found something to give a tug, but didn't find anything to bring home. Not a terrible night... I mean morning.

Use Fireline for your main line.

Respectfully disagree with the fireline comment. Too expensive, and frays very easily when drift fishing. Its alright for float fishing though.
