So went back to lynch creek ohop creek junction and just smashed it. We caught 6 in total. Just hook and night crawler. Biggest one we hooked was about 14-16" but lost him twice right at shore. took home some nice size trout. Overcast, sprinkling at times but very warm great day for fishing. Well one of the fish was caught way down stream at a small spot . take ohop valley extension rd, to first bridge walk down to the right good but small spot once you catch one might as well move on. I found my new spot.

Please check the regs;-) Ohop Creek (Pierce Co.) All Game Fish July 1-Oct. 31 Catch-and-release except up to 2 hatchery STEELHEAD may be retained. Selective gear rules. Internal combustion motors prohibited.

There's been a pretty good amount of habitat work on the Ohop (Creek) for steelhead going up the Nisqually. Was a time when they'd make it up to the lake and make for a big surprise on rare occassion! No idea how it is these days tho.

Good luck.

Wish people would follow rules... Wrecks it for all of us and the population of that fishery...

Colin- seemed pretty clear to me gugger just didn't know so doesn't bug me as a one time oops (unless they go and do it again after realizing the regs LOL). The people that bug me are the ones that know full well what they are doing and want to break the rules/regs anyway. Good luck to all either way.

Yeah oops. got my hands on the regulations..catch and release... and the chances of a steelhead are very unlikely.

my only argument with the rules on this is its like 100 yards down from the mouth of ohop lake. i can catch those fish and but cant catch the same fish in the creek. they are just rainbows who make their way down. but i guess rules are rules.
