walked into thomas' eddy at first light and holy crap the river was boiling, bright silvers and those lovely crimson hook nose bucks flying all over the place.

Started off with the old stand by, the wee 50/50 dick nite. nothing. switched every color of dick nite i had, hot heads, soilds, green and white, pink and white. nothing. Tried some blue fox spinners, even brought out the secret weapon hoochie skirt spinner, nothing. threw hot shot, wiggle warts and tad pollies, nbothing. jig under a float, eggs under a float, corkie and yarn, yarn balls, eggs, pink worm, strike out again. finnally resorted to twitching a jig which wigs me out when people are getting mad thinking your snagging and sure enough i brought one in backwards. (twitching to me means 12" or less of rod travel) switched back to the wee 50/50 and first cast the rod doubled over and started peeling line, 9'6" limaglass, 30 pound braid, and 12 pound p-line cxx leaders. SPOOLED!!!!!!!!!! pretty sure i tailed a fish, and a big one at that, cause i use that same rod on the samish.

there was probably 6 other guys on the river with me. watched one guys drifting a tiny corkie with an 8ft leader "catch" one. that was all for the day. going out in the boat friday to pull plugs, dick nites, cutplugs, whatever it takes. need to get this skunky smell off me!

Some fish were caught later with 9 ft leaders, that pretty much sums up the day.
