just my luck. got down to the river at around 0430 and it was packed tides were great. lots of fish. managed to hook one but being skunked all year, i horsed it in. well, it made a few jumps, it was super bright so it could've been a silver, and it snapped my line... the kings there looked all pretty dark. it is late september. Now, on the the other fisherman. the regs require that you use a float and your bait, lure suspended over it. well, everyone had on jigs, and everyone had on bobbers. but, there was no bobber stop. 99% of the fish that were caught and kept today were foul hooked. Other than that, fell in the mud after my foot sank a foot into the muck. left at 0900.

What pound leader were you using? The fish were biting pretty well in that one spot on the Green this morning.

Samish river is a wild area. People are rude, most of the are looking to snag fish and don't care about anybody.

I will not fish that area do to the ire of that crowd. I'm pretty sure that's the way they want it and so be it. Not a friendly place to fish.

You need 3/4 oz weight to keep your jig steady. I found a lot of folks a bit stand-offish, but the Asian family and the Russians I always see there are cool, smile and are friendly - even though we can't communicate by speaking, words are only 3% of actual communcation.

sound like people found a way around the regs. so they're basically drifting jigs? crazy
