I rated this a 4 but you need to read the report to see why.

I woke up this morning saw the rain and was so happy, I told my wife how the fishing would get better, and she rolled her eyes like a boot king, all slow and irritated. I asked her, Hey babe don't you like all this great fish were eating? And what about how much our friends and family like it? She said oh it's great but in a way not to give me enough support to encourage the behavior on weekends. Well with 2 kids under the age of 2 years old how can I argue. A quick trip before or afer work is one thing, but breaking away on a weekend is different.

So today when I was informed there would be no fishing I was not suprised. Then I was given permission to go to the LA fitness in southcenter and work out but only if I stopped by her parents house to fix a broken TV. So I slip the rod into my truck and then pack up my work out clothes and at the last minute my wife decides she is going to join me... when she starts busing the kids out to the car and sees my fishing gear in the truck, she asks me, what exactly were you planning here, to work out or fish? Jokingly I explain that there is a little jigging spot just under the freeway like a minute away from the gym and I was just going to look maybe 1 or 2 casts at the most. She was not pleased.

So we go to the gym then, afterwards she suprises me and says we can go ahead and take a look but no more than 5 minutes. I really just wanted to see if the rain had changed the river at all because they bumped the flow up at HH Res.

So as I jump out of the truck to go check it out, my wife says, wait aren't you going to take your pole? I responded with the expected, Are you kidding, you don't catch fish in 5 minutes, if I take my pole you are going to be upset either way. Another set of rolling eyes, so I take my pole, and she says I'll wait for 5 mins.

I run down the path peak at the river which is a little darker but not much, and flip a jig (Bruised Hooker). First cast There is a follower and second cast I bring him back and land him. Nice chrome 8-9lb buck. To the fella that helped me net him Thanks, I owe you big time and sorry for splitting so quick, I really did have a family waiting. I also apologize for acting so giddy when I gave your knife back, I really did not think any of that would happen.

So I run back to the car with fish and pole and my wifes eyes bug out, toss it in the cooler and go fix a TV at the parents house. Fancy that a salmon feast follows. How can't you give that a 4. Too bad it will probably never happen again!

Wish I could go tomorrow because I am sure it will be awesome, but unfortunately it is my mom's birthday so there is zero chance. I can't complain, having fished each day of the week!

Nice report! You'll have to email the pics to mike and get em posted up. The only problem is, now your wife will think there is no reason that you can't fish for 5 minutes and still bring home a fish. :) For me it is opposite, with dinner, baths, etc. there is little/no chance of getting out on the weekdays. So 1/2 day on the weekends are my only chance....

Bummer about the pics, they showed up when I previewed the report. Maybe the Admins did not want the pic of the most deadly jig to go public, the traffic to the web server could cripple the site... I can understand that.

Ok... You got me... Tried finding out what a "bruised hooker" is by Googling it. Had to erase my history in fear my girlfriend might be wondering what the h@#$ I'm looking up according to the results I got. LOL....

So, to save me a headache with the gf, can you tell me what the "bruised hooker" is???

The "Bruised Hooker" is the name of a jig pattern I created. It is probably not a good idea to discuss it too much because WDFW might consider banning it. If this fell into the wrong hands or was ever mass produced they would have to do something due to impact it would have on Hatchery Returns.... lol

Keep up the good work! Great that you get to get out! Sounds like you will have fishin' partners in a couple years! Thanks for the report.
