First I will preface that this will be a two part report. First part will be for Thursday and second part for Friday.

Thursday.
-------------------
This will be short since I was only out there for 1 hour in the morning it seemed dead as a door nail, weather, nets, I don't know. I managed one hen maybe 7lbs on a jig and bonked it but I saw very few fish, almost no schools and was bummed out. I almost did not fish friday because of how dead it was.

Friday.
-------------------
I was pretty concerned about today. Quite honestly after thursday I figured that I might get a little skunk on me since I had considered my thursday literally a luckly fish. I think I saw 3 or 4 fish on thursday and caught 1 of them. So Friday I showed up nice and early. Promised myself that I would fish the morning and evening just to be sure that I saw both tides. Well I got there at 6:30am in the morning WAY before tide thinking I would just hang out sip a coffee and then fish, but work had different plans. By 7 I was at work, and pissed off. So what can I do right?? How about cut out of work early and fish!!!! So I did, I planned it for the afternoon tide and it worked out well. Again I did not see many fish. Loads of Boot Kings going up and down, not many big schools of silvers, maybe 1 or 2 and they were small. But the jig and spinner did not fail. Ended up going 4/6 in about 2 hours.

#1 fish was a nice chrome hen caught on a jig that I have now named the "Bruised Hooker" she's a daint! Naught Colors that just send those fish into overdrive. Maybe a 6lbs hen, but remember considering thursday I was already happy to have a fish!!!

#2 fish was a nicer looking buck that blasted a #5 bronze blue fox but starting to show a little color, I won't say rosey but rather irredescent. Anyways I don't need all the fish I have already so I let him go.

#3 fish was a little brat steelhead that smashed a bronze #5. Who would of thunk it right? I was in dis-belief. At first I thought I was pulling in a stick or something, the air-borne and sure enough it was a little brat. - Released (certainly big enough to eat but again it was a pretty nice fish so I figured I already had plenty)

#4 fish was a super super fiesty hen maybe 8lbs with HUGE skiens. She smashed the "bruised hooker" with anger and the proceeded to have me squeeling up and down the bank. Air assault after air assault. Dive and drag rip, over and over... it was awesome. I have pulled some much bigger coho and even steelhead out but this fish put it down. I made 3 attempts to net and when I finally got her I was so glad, then I saw the size and I was like... what that little thing did all that? Oh man, Janequa (I don't know why I name fish) your going home with me!!!

So there you have it two days of fishing. I am going to put in a photo of a jig since quite a few people have been asking about them. Copy, laught whatever !!!! Tight Lines.

#1: The jig of power (but not the jig to rule them all, The jig of the rings is actually the Bruised Hooker which shall not be shown)

#2: A couple of girls from today. Bottom fish Janequa the fighter!! (look at that tail, she was a beast!!!!)

Oh and for all you lucky guys to fish the weekend, screw you! I have two kids under 2 and I am not allowed to fish the weekend. Actually I am not supposed to fish during the week but my wife does not exactly know how frequently I jimmy jam for a little jiggity jim!!!!

If you don't mind me asking. What size is the jig? Looks like 1/8th ounce

There's so much swim in those jigs, I'm surprised they don't put up a fight themselves :-) Very well written report and good results again. Let me guess, you're out again this morning?... Lucky!

@Bent - Twitchin is like fly fishing more than anything. There are alot of variations to the action you can make with your pole that will produce different results, seems like every river, spot and type of fish look for different things. Having good jigs doesn't hurt.

@Sthao92 - 1/4oz. They look smaller because the body looks so durn big.

@Knotabassturd - Read the last part of the report dude! I don't get to fish the weekends... Indians pull nets out, fishing gets better and I get none... Weak sauce, at least it is raining!!! My wife is letting me go to the LA Fitness to work out though, I was thinking of packing the pole and taking a few casts under the 405 bridge. We will see :0

Oops, not so lucky then LOL. Believe me many of us can relate on the family part ;-) ! Weekends can still be fun without fishing. Wife just scheduled the family for visiting her Vietnamese friends for tons of dinner food and some beverages! Good company, GREAT food :-) Of course this means Sunday AM shot I had contemplated will probably not materialize (possibility of too many beverages will be high). That's OK, there's always your reports to read thru early next week to make the workday go by smoothly. Your writeups are great reading! Good luck.

You using a float with ur jigs or jig only? I have a hard time casting 1/4oz jig any good distance.

@knot - Good luck on Sunday, you are probably sleeping it off right now!!!

@Cheng - Jig only, I never fish under a float for coho, sometimes I do for steelhead. What kind of rod and line are you using? That can make all the difference.

@chelon - Read the regs, probably either oct 16th or nov 1st depending on where you are at.

Jim- I didn't make it out Sunday, way too early for AM after drinking to midnight night before but did get to watch the golf tourny (Snedeker pull it out!) and the Ravens/Patriots game totally relaxed. Had to sit at the house waiting for someone to fly in from SF (they had a ride to our place at least but neede to stick around for them). But it was all good, had a great Sat night and no real hangover ;-) BTW I DID think I noticed the single malt in your background pic behind the vice which was one reason for thinking 'this guy is cool' about you. LOL. Anyway, I'm mostly couch potato surfing the site from work and don't really get out to fish much so I enjoy your reports. Think I stepped on a few toes in the river forum section (3 people unfriended me) so will gently fade back into the background and hop off the posting. Just know reports like yours make the workday go by much faster! Thumbs up. Keep it up.
