8/18/2012 8:32:00 PMI could be wrong and probably am, but that sure looks like a baby black sea bass. Anyone else agree? It sure has the body and colors/markings for a sea bass.

8/18/2012 11:09:00 PMTotally a Tillapia. Just came back from So Cal a few days ago, and i was catching those all day long. Its weird that their are in the sky because supposedly they die in temps under 55 degrees. Its probably a hardier species native to the mountainous regions of Egypt, Sudan or South Sudan.

8/18/2012 11:47:00 PMNimmunDay- I thought they would need warmer water also. thanks too for confirming the identity of this mystery fish. I don't think they are native to the sky and like i said in the report i think someone let them go in the sky when they got too big for their fish tank. Anyway they will probably die when the cold winter temps come.

8/19/2012 12:20:00 AMlast year humpy fishing up at the cheapskate hole i caught about 3 of those and and seen a couple more swimming around i thought it was sum kind of carp or sucker fish when i got mine last year

8/22/2012 2:22:00 PMI caught this fish about 100 yds above the mouth of the sultan. I have sent the pictures to wdfw and have not heard back yet about them.

8/22/2012 3:45:00 PMThose fish are extremely invasive, I hope they are removed or die quickly, although after a short web search I would guess it is already too late.

8/23/2012 9:32:00 AMthought it was a sucker fish at first, but doesnt have the same mouth or brown tint to it. it probably just got released this summer, theres no way those things could survive through the winter up here. did you put it back? or did you kill it? would be cool if there was a school of tilapia getting bigger and bigger out on the sky every year. i hear they're fun to fish, and they taste really good too!!

8/23/2012 9:42:00 AMIf they didn't harm the salmon/steelhead runs that would be fine but i want to say once they get big enough they would start eating the salmon/steelhead smolts. I did let it go because i didn't know what to do with it.
