I went to the Skok for the first time this morning. Started off down near the mouth and walked up and down the river a bit. Spent most of my time at the slot near the mouth were all the float fishers were using eggs. I saw a couple fish caught on eggs while the day was still trying to break, but the bite died after that. About 5-8 of us all floating the same slot with eggs while fish rolled and jumped, but no bites.
There were a lot of fish rolling/jumping, but only saw a handful of fish on the hook, and only a few brought to shore.
It was a nice day, although a bit chilly (I thought i was going to be hot, ended up being a bit cold). I liked the river, the folks around me were pleasant and didn't interfere with me enjoying fishing at all.
I have some relatives flying in from Japan in a couple weeks, I was thinking of taking them river fishing (not something they get to do where they live) I might just take them here if the run is still going strong.
Overall, everyone seemed to think it was a pretty slow day.
Side note: I was surprised on my way out (left around 9am) how many rigs and guy fishing I drove past after the hwy 106 boundary. I though it was closed during the week (in fact, I'm sure it is), but there were quite a few people fishing away....based on the reports/threads I've read on this river, this appears to be par for the course :-)
