well hit the sky today, saw alot of fish from the lewis bridge and up rolling. started with my small spinner with 10 lb test, threw a float with eggs i cured, 4th cast bag fish on. after a nice long fight and almost spooled 2 x got him in the net. nice fat 18 lb chinook. so fished on and 5 min bag another one on , same fight got to net and was a wild let her go. had 2 more take downs and hooked them, one broke off right at the net was a wild and the next one spooled me on 12lb test. what a great day, this chinook makes up for the nice one i had to let go last year during coho season.

Species affected: Hatchery chinook salmon

Starting August 1, night closure and anti-snagging rules in effect. was fishing from shore started at the lewis bridge and worked my way up ben howard rd. seems anywhere above borlin there were fish rolling. the one that spooled me i saw a big roll and threw on it and float down. they seem to be between the frog water and the main currents in the channels. i tryed all the waters and the channels is where i was getting bit, was same thing with the coho last year. i had a very small amount of sockeye eggs i cured and every time i threw with them i got a bite missed a few but the one in the pic was on the sockeye eggs cured in the red pink fire cure. the coho eggs worked and i got bites but not as well as the sockeye eggs, had some store bought eggs and didn,t get any bites with them and also try sand shrimp on the float ,bouncing and even plunked. this was a just get on the river and try some stuff and spots, didn,t get there till like 11:00 am after 3 had nothing and left at 5 i didn,t check the tides .
