Went to the Skykomish today despite the high water and weather report. Had a beautiful morning on the river. Arrived about 7 am. Tried several spots. After doing some walking I found a nice quite hole with some fish in it. About 10 minutes later a second fisherman shows up. Really nice guy. First cast he bags a beautiful chrome buck (approx. 8 lbs). My next cast I snag on bottom and lose my leader. While I'm tying up the other guy hooks another fish! This time he lands a bright little hen (approx. 5 lbs). Not bad, he limited out in 20 minutes... couldn't have thrown more than ten casts. We talked for awhile before he packed up. He gave me some row and sandshrimp and advice on how to fish the hole. I fished until 11:30 when the rain set in. Used up the row and sandshrip, tried multiple combinations of corkies and yarn, even threw a spoon and spinner for awhile, had a couple bumps but never hooked up. Regardless, enjoyed getting out and looking forward to go back when the weather improves!
