Decided to go take a drive to the skookumchuck River with my buddy Chris. He showed me how to get my nait ready. I lost some bait and liter due to a rock. Darn rock. I was using a pink corky and pink yarn at the time. I decided to change up and I used a orange and green corky and a chartruse yarn. I had casted about three time and JACKPOT "fish on" I had caught my first steelhead. As I reeled it in it had a good fight. I had some help landing it with a net. As I pulled it in I noticed that it was a female because it was dropping some eggs major time. I guess I put in some kind of shock because it let it all out so to speak. Chris and I were talking between us and we set some categories. First fish, size, color. I got the best in color, size, first. I mean wow what an excitement. Mind you I got my license yesterday. All in all we had an awesome day. Chris though had a wonderful time fishing. I mean he got his linit within a five minute period. Way to go! We got there at about 11:00am and left around 7:00pm. Thanks to a couple of locals for helping us net the fish. Chiris got 2 steelhead and I got 1 steelhead.

Great report Joe! Had a blast. Looking forward to going down to the Cowlitz when the Springers heat-up.
