Well… we headed out to Mineral Lake on Friday (May 6th), we (my buddy, my dad and I) launched at 9:00am in our pontoon boats. We were going to do a bit of trolling, so we put on a “Peacock Ice Dub Black and Olive” size 10 bugger, TMC 200R-BL (barbless), sink tip line. It didn’t take more than about 50 feet from the launch and BAM hit a nice 15 inch rainbow, and that is the way it went the rest of the day. We fished down the west side of the lake (back and forth).

The lunar cycle was the moon was following behind the sun. The weather was fairly nice, early in the day cloud and sun breaks, slight breeze from the southeast (most all day). Water temperature was 59 deg at about 3 feet down. The fish were between 8 to 12 feet.

We ended up with about 15-20 fish each. My dad caught a really nice 20 inch German Brown. Most of the fish were between 11 to 17 inches. But my buddy Steve and I both caught some MONSTERS rainbow trout!!!

Steve’s was 28 inches and probably 7-8 pounds and Mine was 29 inches and between 7-9 pounds.
