I caught some online reports saying the skook was hot, while others were giving contradictory reports(I'm sure a lot of you guys saw them too).
Since I had some time on my hands today, I decided to go and take a look. I drove up to the boundary and fished all the way down to the rock. I was there from about 7 to 12, and came across ~20 other guys fishing.
The water was a little high and fast, but very fishable, and visibility was around 2ft.
I drifted corky/yarn, EZ eggs, Spin/glo, spoons (gold and orange color), and floated a nightmare worm at a couple spots that were condusive to float fishing.
Most of the other guys were drift fishing, plunking, float fishing in that order.
Didnt get any hits, nor did I see anyone else get a hit or catch fish while I was there.
It seems as if the positive reports I read were inaccurate. One of the guys I ran into mentioned there were a lot of false reports out there right now as he had been fishing the river everyday this week and hasn't seen more than 4 or 5 fish pulled out.
Regardless, it has been awhile since I made it out to a river, so it was nice to get the lines wet and take in the fresh air. I'm not sure what time of year the skook usually heats up, but I will probably try again in a couple weeks.
