We went to the Cascade for a change of scenery for a while and it was pretty much perfect. We got there about a half hour after daylight, and there were already folks walking out with their limit. The water is down, low and clear, and started up at the creek. We had a volley of fish come through about a half hour in, three of us with fish on the bank and then it calmed down for a bit. My brother, no dice. I got my first on a bit of prawn.

After a bit we meandered downstream to check out some other stuff, at lunch at the mouth, and I went back up for the camera battery. On my way out I stopped on the otherside and threw a couple casts and got my second fish on eggs. This was a bruiser, and put up a great fight. Took me for a bit of a run. By 10 I was limited out waiting on my brother.

He hooked one by the log jam and lost it. I took the oppurtunity to scout out all the spots in the river, and to spot fish. There was a large school of fish sharking through the logjam and up to the top riffle, they weren't really staying put. This low water has them pretty spooked. Found a couple of new spots to hit, being able to see how the bottom has changed and the places where the fish like to hide out is always useful. My brother just couldn't get his fish though and we were done by 3. Great weather, crystal clear and dry, but cold. Saw a few guys recognized and made some new friends. No secret here guys, if you do the drive you've got a shot. The first ten minutes of light are where it's at. Then it's lazy fishing, slow but you'll get 'em.

Nice work! I was hitting South Fork Sky for Alpine Whitefish and spotted two nice-sized Steelies. The water has broke an 82-year record for low-flow twice now. Other than drifting in a wetsuit/mask/snorkel over years, the low-waters have allowed for seeing new spots to hit. Too bad I couldn't, at least, get a C&R on w/ my sinking line beaded-egg. Just kept on right past the two...w/ 2LB on., So clear and clean right now!
