Fished the upper section today. I got a late start but was still lucky. He nipped at it the first time. I wasn't sure if it was a short strike or a rock, but hammered it the second time. Fish was about 8lbs. I think the fish might think the jigs are fleeing crawdads and it triggers the attack mode. Who knows tho its just theory right?
I did self pic with the camera. My tripod is only about 6inches high so it cut my head off. I will get a better pic next time. Other pic is jig under water in "action". You can see down side of long marabou can foul on hook. Recipe is two marabou feathers and purple estaz on 1/8th oz hook thats 2/0. I put Mikes sandshrimp oil on also.
I only fished for 30 min. Got a call from wife right after I caught fish and had to go pick up a sick kid from school. Will go again tommorow.

Nice pics! I am wanting to tie some jigs up to try twitching next season - gives me an idea of what to tie. Thanks!

Wow, that almost looks like a buck steelhead. Anyway, nice fish. Great report.
