Well, I got up early this morning and headed for the Green river. Went up to the Black Diamond bridge area. This was my first time on the Green since starting fishing for Salmon this year. Started just at the crack of dawn when I could see where my line was hitting; some guys had been there before me, a long time before me. Caught a nice coho at about 8am; right about the time that the bus arrived with all the others trying to get a fish, LOL. Became a battle fish stretch for a while. Fished until about 11am when the wife called asking for coffee.. Good day all in all, caught my first coho, very nice fighter, good sized male with eggs in the gut!. I took a pic but I'll have to upload it later; its on my phone. Saw a couple of other coho's hooked that were turning color, mine was mostly silver.

I could be wrong but usually Male's don't carry eggs unless there has been some significant mutation or procedure done. I think that is pretty common with Salmon in Thailand but more rare around here. Fun stuff popping that Coho cherry, I want to see that photo because most of the 'ho's up there are colored out pretty darn good.

Would like to see the pic as well. Maybe he caught one from a fresh run??? I am still waiting for it. I have been down several times these past two weeks and havent seen anything come out. Maybe the nuke plants in Japan sarted mutating our fish?? Let me know how (s)he taste...lol

I said "huh?" when I 1st read it too, but re-reading it, think he means a buck with eggs in his stomach?

Yes, eggs were in the stomach contents, meaning that he was eating eggs on the way up stream. Sorry for the confusion, LOL. By the way, it was a great tasting (s)he. LOL.

HAhaha that makes way more sense. I thought you were saying the Buck actually had Full Skeins ahahah - Still want to see a pic, not many nice looking fish in the river right now and seeing the pics gets me all excited again.

That's a Steelhead! The reason it had eggs in it's stomach is because it ate salmon eggs. Nice catch though!!! I got how you would think that that is a Coho. But when the Coho's go up to Black Diamond they are fire trucks.

Hey guys, thanks for all the comments. I am still on the fence as to what this fish is! LOL. By the way, it was a hatchery, adipose fin was clipped. I know the picture is not all that great due to the fact it was in the water; after taking it home (wishing I would have taken another picture now) there was pink coloration through the middle of the body as well as a slight pinking below the rear of the fish just below the tail. The flesh was almost red/orange like a Copper River, fairly large black spots on the back, gums were white, can't remember what the tongue looked like, well over 24" in length, about 3" thick, and from the top of the back to the belly was about 6". What ever it was, it was yummy and there is more in my freezer! Tight lines all and Fish On!
