Put in at Cusick @ 12:30, water temps were in the upper 60's, water level up a foot or two from previous trip which made some sloughs accessable. Fished mainly north of Cusick, picked up a few but no keepers, all in the 3-4lb range and skinny. Headed down past Usk for a few to check out accessability. Headed back up to the Cusick launch to pick up our older son to scout the river for a next weekend trip, headed back up north, picked up 10 between the 2 of us within an hour, largest was my son's 32" close to 7lb's. A good outing, looks like the fall bite is picking up.

Hey Mike, I tried to use the contact link at the bottom of the site to have this post removed, it's a duplicate, guess you had a problem with post's, so it's ok to remove this, thanks.

Hope no one was giving you grief. Nice northern and thanks for the report. Not sure if I will make it back to the river before the snow shows up for the year. I'll be pike fishing at Hayden the first week of October and then Cd'A at the end of the month. If I can swing it,I'd like to try the Pend Oreille for a little fall bite. Sorry,I'm rambling. Thanks again for the report

No grief, I did this post late Sunday evening, looked occaisionally on Monday to see if it went, pulled up the site on my home computer Monday evening and still didn't see it so I thought maybe I forgot to hit submit, but after seeing a couple of other duplicates, so I went to the "contact us" link on the bottom of the site to try and get it removed but it looks like it didn't work...

great job on the fish...seems like every time I go up there I see you driving by... I am usually in a 18.5ft green Lowe roughneck...last time I was in the Smoker Craft though did you catch them in the sloughs or were you fishing the weed edges...last time I went up I was catching them on white spinnerbaits going from thick weeds to clear water and it helped a lot if it included a drop off...I got 9 pike and 10 bass myself doing that ...a few in the sloughs but not many ... did you happen to notice if Larson slough was open (also called Locke slough). Gardner ?...Davis? thanx for the post and keep on catchin!

@ Black Plague, yep, I've seen your boat out there. We fished mainly up in the sloughs and weed lines north of Cusick that were accessible, all of the non-tribal area's of course. When we went south, Davis & Bunny were still not accessible. We were using the same technique as you discribed, sometimes they'd hit it on the drop right in front of the weekline. White, orange, and chartruese spinnerbaits/chatterbaits seem to be the ticket right now, I've even run them as top waters in the evening and get some very violent attacks! Lots of fun!
