Managed a quick little coho followed by a long slow drought for the day. Got up to go and spied an area I hadn't fished, with a few fish jumping but it was a precarious spot. With only 1 coho kept, releasing a bucked up pink, and with litle time left before needing to go I decided to test my agility. Need to remind myself of being 40+, not 20... But anyways... Did make it to 'the spot' in one piece and little enough pain to be able to fish. Not enough room to do much more than balance and cast but that I did and managed 3 semi-bright pinks, a couple bucks let go, and then left for home in short order (maybe 40 minutes time at that little spot). That last spot the fish were pretty thick so I was disappointed in myself for not wandering around more earlier. BUT it was a day on the water, away form work, blackberries are ripe and tasty after being washed by the recent rain so it's ALL good. :-) Except for all the net marks on the pinks (see 2nd pic- the little coho is the top fish with the other 3 being 2 bucks and one hen pink)... Guessing nets were meant for coho and some of the medium/smallish pinks without humps get thru.

kingfisher- I don't have a closeup pic but will get one up in the river pics section when I get a chance. I use cheapo 25 pack Cabela's 1/4 ounce jigs, then tie in a pink marabou tail, then wind a little pink pipe cleaner up the body so I can tie one up fast. I will get some better jig hooks for next season. Have bent open many, broken a few off at the bend, seen them get bent along the shank out of shape, etc. Sometimes I just cut the darn hook off and run a stinger right below it. Losaturn- you too! Nice to see a few coho mixing in with the pink reports for the Green lately. This coho was pretty small, about pink size (guessing 3 1/2 pounds).

Well done! I hope I get into some coho action soon. Are you using casting or spinning gear with your 1/4 oz jigs?
