Sorry this report is late. Was hoping to attach some pictures with it but they were not taken on my camera this trip. My aunt has been following my river adventures for the last few years and kept commenting on how she would like to catch a slamon or steelhead. She is an avid walleye fisherperson from Nebraska. Her and my uncle would go out almost every day in the summer until he passed away a little over a year ago. Even now she takes her big ol pontoon boat out by herself a couple times a week! She came to town for her 75th (yes 75) birthday and since she cannot get around as well as she used to I hired a Guide Service to take us out for some pink action while she was here. Since I hired the boat, my uncle (her brother - 72 and also from Nebraska) decided he wanted to tag along also.

John met us at the high bridge launch and we buzzed down past the 522 bridge. This was my 1st time on a boat in a river so it was an adventure for all of us. Throughout the afternoon we tried a few spots and the fish were definately lock jawed for the most part, think it was all the hot weather turning them off - they were rising every where but not wanting anything we offered them. Finally John got us into a spot where they were biting. Though it was not "HOT", we all caught fish and had a great time. John worked his butt off to get us into fish and it payed off. We ended up taking 5 home, releasing 4 more and lost a few more than that. I have never fished pinks with float/jig/prawn, but that was the ticket for this day.

My aunt called the day - she was getting tired so we headed back up to the launch. John cleaned and filleted the fish for us and bid us farewell. It was all my aunt & uncle could talk about the next day. They really enjoyed those "scrappy" salmon, the scenery and John.
I enjoyed being on the water, learning new tactics and spending time with my family. John is a good guy, with a lot of knowledge and no problem sharing it. I will definately be hiring this guide again when I want to get out on the river instead of pounding the banks! PM me and I'll let you know who it is if you're interested.

If I can talk my aunt through sending me some pics I will make sure to ask Mike to add them to this report!

Right on GP! My favorite reports are hearing of kids or more 'mature' (is that message board correct etiquette???) people getting their first salmon :-)

Great report Gringo.I am glad your aunt and uncle got to fight our NW Pinks. I have also been with John on May 7th this year at Lake Stevens. He is a great guy and really knows how to catch fish when they aren't willing for other people.
