this report is for the last 5 days 09/01-09/05, thursday morning, i hit ebey slew from the bank, using squid jigs, before that day i never caught a humpy. another fisherman on shore gave me a few tips which payed off immediately, caught 2 fish, and snagged and lost my only squid jig on a log..so i called it a day, my first fish was the biggest fish i caught during all 4 days, it measuerd 25 1/2 inches, and was a big buck, maybe 5 pounds, the other was a buck as well. later that day, i hit the store, and spent $50.00 on jigs.. friday at 8:00am , ebey slew, first jig i tried, was a 1/8 oz pink/white maribou jig; "dominator" is the namebrand, ( for $3.99 it better dominate) and sure enough it did. i was there for about an hour, half my time was spent jaw jacking with other fisherman, got my 4 in no time with ease, i'm also pretty sure i had a silver on at one point, because i had a chrome looking fish on my line about i saw it1ft under the surface ,about 35 inches or so, my guess is maybe 15 pounds,it shook its head and spit the hook after about a 30 second fight... saturday, same time, same place, same jig from the day before +1 friend, we had our 8 in 1 1/2 hour, she used squid jigs, and a 1/4oz pink/purple maribou jig (not sure of the brand). sunday same time, same place, a little slower, but still managed to limit in about 2 hours.. i used a pink/white brads maribou jig 1/8 oz , and the dominator. Today was even slower than yesterday but i managed to get 3 after 4 hours of patient jigging. i tried squid jigs, and brads, aero, and dominator maribou jigs, all with moderate success.(hits here and there) lots of fun this weekend, first humpies ever, and lots of em.
