Hit the Duwie just below 405 for a change of pace from the Puke and the crowds. It was nice to be fishing solo for most the time and not shoulder to shoulder. Messed up on timing the tides i thought it was outgoing when in fact it was coming in. Figured i would give it a shot anyways. Some fish jumping in the slack water but not to many looked like a mixture of kings and pinks. Started out casting a spinner with little luck just one missed strike. Just as i was about to give up i noticed a change in the river flow and it looked like the tide was about to shift. I changed to a pink jig and just as the flow picked up it was fish on. In the next 30 minutes i landed 8 really nice pinks all catch and release. They were all bucs, very good size (much bigger than the Puke fish), and very fresh with sea lice and very silver. I was using a 1/4oz pink jig with shrimp/anise scent on it and slow jigged it. It was nice for a change to feel a real strike other than the floss/drift of the Puke and much more fun having room to play out the fish.
