Launched out of Rotary Park in Everett at around 1:00 with my son, a buddy from work and his two kids. I was the only one in the boat who had ever caught a salmon, and was hoping to get all of them hooked up. Trolled Dick Nites all the way up to Hwy 9. Hooked up a nice hen just above the float plane, and my 4 yr old did a great job catching his first salmon! Had a couple more take-downs without hooking up. Then nothing. Hardly saw any fish jumping. Saw a lot of people fishing, both from boats and shore. From 1:00 to 7:00 probably only saw 20-30 fish jump and maybe 6 caught by other anglers. Had high hopes, but no luck.
On the way home the boat trailer got a flat on the Everett Trestle. Unhooked and went home to get warning triangles and some tools. By the time I got back (less than an hour) the State Patrol had already had it towed. My son had Dr. appointments all day today, so will have to get it tomorrow. $177 for the tow and $90 for two days storage at the tow company = one very expensive salmon!!!
