Launched from Conway and headed up the south fork looking for fish...nothing in sight. Continued to the forks, anchored and threw the lines in the water. Gave it about 30 minutes, but no fish rolling, nothing happening. About 20 other boats in the area, and we didn't see a single hookup. Went back down south fork and tried a few spots. Finally spotted a couple fish rolling, so anchored where they were. Had three hookups, one of which we got in the boat. First hookup was a monster, but never saw it before it spit the hook...possibly a nice size silver guessing from the fight. The one we boated was a 4 lb chrome hen (pink/humpy). Good eatin', but would've liked to do a bit better. Seems there are hardly any fish in the river yet. Maybe the nets are out downstream? Anyone know if the south fork gets netted like the north fork? Good luck out there.
