Fished the upper sky between high bridge to sultan. We started off with a crisis. We lost one of the oars just after big eddy and spent about 30 minutes trying to paddle with one oar to reach the one we lost. Despite the slow start we hooked into a native summer steelhead side drifting eggs in the next hole. It was about 8 pounds. My buddy caught a 5 pound dolly varden as well on a mepps spinner. No kings yet which I hope to catch one day. The water was at about 6600 cfs. Our arms were done afterwards. Wish the water will drop below 2500cfs, probably alot easier to drift.

I swear, those Dolly's love those Mepps spinners ! On the Dungeness River over on the Peninsula they would almost get annoying as they hit your line constant as we were usually then trying for Coho. Lol =) Biggest one out of there was also 6 pounds that I got, but since about 8 years ago, you just don't see them much at all anymore and the Coho runs are poor compared what it was back then also. Ugh... Thanks for the report ! I was trying for a Steelhead or even a Dolly today but it didn't happen... Maybe next time ! =)
