Fished Ringer road Mile Marker Twenty on the 17th with a couple of 'new to fly fishers'. Pretty windy and big water still, but overall solid fishing and catching. Hooked a dozen + in a short afternoon. Some great sized trout taken as well. Early in the afternoon The black Copper John in size 16 and PT in a 12 hooked a few trout as well as a Twenty Incher and a black and brown Pats Stone in size 10. The single black Pats won the day in the evening. Also saw two random eats and rose both fish to a Bitteroot Skwala. Didn't see any Mayflies.
Fish the joinings, and soft spots and creases where "it all evens out" and have patience because lots of your favorite pieces will seem a little roily boily. Water peaked at 41 to 42 degrees F only for a short time, three feet of vis at Ringer rd. with rainwash green color.
Pow!
