Well made a trip to the river today to try out a new lure that was sent to me, this lure is produced in Canada and not like anything I've ever used. I made 3 casts and had a nice Pike hit the lure but didnt stay hooked. I made about another 4 cast and caught a Pike about 4lbs. I fished for another 1 1/2 hours and ended up with 8 follows and 2 fish both about 5lbs. Water temp was 38 degrees and prety clean still. I'm pretty sure i will be promoting this lure in the future, man did it work good and its early in the year. If anyone is interested in fishing the Pend Oreille River call us to book a trip now. We will be spending the weekend Sat fishing the Spokane arm for Walleye and Sunday we will be in the Kettle Falls area fishing for Walleye. I love Walleye fishing glad to be able to teach people this weekend how to catch them. Sorry the pics arent better....

I'm guessing the new lure is not a top water bait. At first glance it looks like it is, but the hook appears to be comming out of a metal keel on what would be the bottom of the lure. The taper at the front looks like it slants towards the back of the bait at the top, kind of like the old school plugs used for salmon. What do they call it? Nice going and thanks for the report. Happy Fishing

Actually it runs about a foot and half under the surface....and it has great side to side action...

Is that a wood plug with a metal guide fin? Very unusal, looks like a pike minnow pattern. Well done Craig.
