After experiencing a great time a few days ago, I had to return to this quiet lake hoping for an encore. Water temp was at 58, overcast skies and light rain. After settling into my pontoon, I headed straight across to fish the other half of the lake I wasn't able to check on my previous visit. Besides, (and you may have already figured this out), I'm right-handed and find it much less stressful on my back muscles by keeping the shoreline to my left side as I'm finning along. This way, I'm fishing across my body. Anyway, this other half of the lake was not as productive for large fish. Lots of small bass. Not until I started working the opposite shore did I start picking up much larger fish. Had luck flipping with both weightless 5" Senko's in green and 5" blood-red Roboworms with a single split shot. As an example of the great day, As I was rowing back to the launch opening, I swung by the last dock to skip a Senko underneath one more time. First cast produced a smallie about two pounds. Third cast gave up another smallie about a pound. In all, released over a dozen including a three pound largemouth caught near the launch. I say again... RELEASED!!!! Thanks.
