Finally had my first float down the yakima river canyon today. thanks to the help and recommendations from the guys at Reds. no clue as to what i was really doing as i've never river floated before but it was awesome!! brought 2 fish up to the camera and 3 others that broke off. Rig was a double nymph with a bead head hares ear on top and a red brassie on bottom. all fish were caught and broken off on the brassie. great winter action! can't wait to go back.

Nice typical late fall Yakima 'bow. Great picture. I love to float the Yak this time of year, especially mid-week. Not many people but lots of wildlife. I am fortunate to live so close.

See waterfowl on the floats, ducks geese and occasionally pelicans. Also bald eagles, big horns, and deer. Almost hit a doe by accident with the oar cutting in close to bank once. Not sure who was more scared, her or me.
