Day off, weather was looking somewhat better than previous days so i decided to make the trip out to the upper yakima off of the Bullfrog Rd exit. Outside temp was about 33-36 degrees at times, no wind. water wasn't bad but not great as far as temp goes but it certainly was warmer than monday when i was out here. Rig was a double nymph setup. The bottom fly was the most productive, a kevlar yellow bug which i have no clue what it should be called since im fairly new to fly tying but it looks somewhat buggy and caught fish so im quite happy with it. Days catch consisted of 2 whitefish and a nice sized rainbow which were caught between 1 and 3pm. not the typical spring/summer early fall excitement for me but out fishing is WAY better than staying home. even if its a 2 hr drive. :)
