I only had a couple hours to fish. I went to the Puy, instead of loading up the boat and hitting the lake. I fished at the Alderton bridge for a while then fished where the rivers meet. As suspected I was just practicing casting. I didn't see any fish role, no old or dead fish. I also talked to a few guys who had the same results.
It appears that unless the pinks are "in" this river gets worse every year. I wouldn't be surprised if the state closes the river next month due to no steelhead.
The upper river has new signs up stating that the dike is only for emergency access and closed to the public and no tresspassing signs everywhere else. I'm not sure if I will fish this system any more.
