After the past few days of higher-than-normal river flow/level, I hit the Duwamish in the Kent Valley. I plunked w/the usual fishermen between 10 am and 2:30 pm. Used a Passion Polly smeared w/Anise and Shrimp Smelly Jelly. Waited 'til 11:30 for my first Chum on. She was about 8 lbs. and pretty bright. After a bad experience w/having my last Chum smoked I decided to release her. The fishing gods then blessed me w/a 12 lb. hen that decided she was going to run a bit and took line so hard I had a damned time getting my pole out of the holder. She was bright and fat w/eggs but again, I decided to let her go. Nice day on the river w/5 Chum on between 4 fishermen. It was nice to catch something before the river rises from the forecasted rains coming in the next few days.
